A solar water heater is a device that utilizes sunlight to heat water for various domestic or industrial purposes. It typically consists of solar collectors, which absorb sunlight and convert it into heat, and a system to transfer and store the heated water for later use. There are two main types of solar water heaters:
Active Solar Water Heater: Uses pumps to circulate water through the system. It includes flat-plate collectors or concentrating collectors, and a controller to regulate the water circulation.
Passive Solar Water Heater: Relies on gravity to circulate water through the system. It includes batch systems (where water is heated directly in the collector) and thermosiphon systems (where water circulates due to natural convection).
Solar water heaters are an eco-friendly and energy-efficient alternative to traditional water heating methods, reducing reliance on electricity or gas.
